lots o' pics

This is our CBT village on the hill.

Michael took this picture on a walk near our CBT village...not bad. :)

We had a flat tire during our taxi trip back to our seminar site. We were back on the road quickly, but had enough time to take a couple of pictures!

Today is an Islamic holiday that celebrates the birth of the Prophet, so we had a special breakfast which involved a lot of cookies and breads, and got dressed up Moroccan style... :)

Here's our CBT group (the nice way). The woman in the pink is our LCF (Language and Cultural Facilitator) Amina. :)

Here's our CBT group (the old school rap way).

We're off to CBT again tomorrow! We'll try and post soon when we get back!

Thanks for all the pics. You both look great going 'native'. I am sure you will be impacted even more so in the long term than just those external things. Keep learning, even up to the day you leave. I picked some fresh flowers outside for Mom just a little while ago. Quite amazing considering it is so early in April. I think I have a buyer for your car. He has looked at it once, and will come again either this pm, or tomorrow. And, I have had some other calls.
Love, Mom and Dad H.

Thanks for all the pictures! The landscape is just beautiful. I'm sure it is even more amazing than it looks in the pictures. Not a lot of new stuff here. Mary is learning to sit up all by herself. She can do it for about 30 seconds and with a little help for balance, she can do it for much longer. We miss you!

The scenery is incredible there, it sure beats Minnesota right now before everything leafs out and starts to turn green. It was fun to see you all dressed up like the locals. It is shorts weather here today, lots of convertible tops down and motorcycles out cruising around. Callie hates the mushy yard. Take care and we love you!

Hello Mike & Jana,

Hujambo? I figure I would help you with some of your Swahili. Sijambo. It sounds like are having a good time - I glad to hear it. The blogs have been very interesting.

Talked to Heidi and gave her your blog page. By the way you are now officially an aunt and uncle. I got a puppy and her name is baby, it is really fancis after the first female member of the cabinet but everybody calls her baby.

Jana,

I know you won't get this for a few days, but it just felt wrong not to write since I called everyone else and talked to them this morning (Monday, 24th). I just talked to Chelsea about an hour ago...if you read her blog you will see that she began having contractions last night that got pretty stong around 11pm. They thought they were going to the hospital, but when she moved around a bit, they lightened up enough for her to sleep. This morning the contractions are still there, but light and further apart than last night. Andy and Tanya are there with them to watch Olivia when they do finally go to the hospital. She has a midwife appointment today at 4pm at which she was maybe going to be induced. She is hoping the the midwife will let her go a little longer on her own since she is having contractions. Maybe they will speed up today and she will be seeing her midwife to have the baby and not her regular appointment. I wish I could be talking to you rather than writing! We all miss you so much! We will let you know when we know!

love,
Karly
